This past Saturday I got a chance to get back over to Mt. Diablo to finish the hike I didn't finish last month around Donner Falls. It was getting too dark and cold to continue and I didn't have a flashlight. So I headed out around 8am, and did the 6+ miles around the falls only to find they were still bone-dry despite the long bout of rain we had last week. The only falls I encountered were a couple drizzles falling about four inches. (Which I got a pic of just for the sake of it.) In retrospect I made the right decision by turning back last time as it got much more difficult as you get closer to the falls. It was a lot muddier this time around, and the few stream you cross along the way were a bit deeper, which provided a good opportunity to clean the boots. Either way, this trail will be a good one to revisit into the spring, until then at least I can cross this one off my list.

Donner Creek Trail, Mount Diablo

Saturday I did a quick hike on Donner Creek Trail in Mount Diablo. It was a very nice, up scale trail starting in a nice neighborhood. It was well marked with sign posts at every intersection along the way.
