Bridge School Benefit XX

Well to start a new annual tradition, I went with Mike, Jennifer, Alex and her friend Alex to the Bridge School Benefit concert at the Shoreline in Mountain View yesterday and had a blast. We got there around 4pm. We missed or otherwise didn't pay much attention to the first couple performers. Death Cab for Cutie played early including their radio hit, but it started getting good as it got dark and the Foo Fighters took the stage and played Big Me among other cool songs. I believe Trent Reznor was next playing acoustic versions of songs such as Piggy and Hurt. Incidently he seemed a far cry from his normal dark, industrial self and seemed like a down-right nice guy. Brian Wilson (of Beach Boys fame) took the stage next and play stuff like Help Me Rhonda, Good Vibrations, etc. He provided an awesome retro touch to the concert. Pearl Jam was out next and played Parachute, Elderly Woman, Don't Call Me Daughter, and Betterman. The Dave Matthews Band was out next and put on a great show with a set that included Ants Marching. Then finally around 12:30am Neil Young took the stage and finished up the concert which ended in a fantastic group performance of Keep on Rockin in the Free World. And there it is: nearly 10 hours of musicy goodness in a paragraph.

Today I woke up quite late, didn't do much, but did go an selected a new cell phone. I traded up my SonyEricsson T616 for a SonyEricsson W810i. It has a slick new black-matte finish, 2.0 mega-pixel camera, mp3 player, and an upgradable 128Mb flash rom card. Pretty swanky.
