yesterday, friday eighmee was off work at 1pm. i picked some sandwiches from gian's deli, and picked her up and we headed home. i worked from home the rest of the day as we needed to call the apartment manager to get someone to fix our air conditioner. it's working but very poorly. they said it'd probably be tuesady or wednesday before they could get someone out to fix it. later we headed to the mall with ryan, where eighmee bought some DVD's (Viva la bam). Then we picked up kitt and andrew who'd stopped by our place then went and dropped off eighmee's timecard, then headed to Chili's for dinner. We all had a good time and good eats. After dinner we came back to our place and we all watched the Viva La Bam DVD's eighmee picked up. (Viva la bam is similar to Jackass with many of the same characters as Jackass, CKY, and those other zany MTV shows.) It's memorial day weekend and there's talk of heading up to Valley Springs this evening. We all have Monday off, and Eighmee's brother is having a bbq get together at his place.

Went and saw Star Wars Episode III today at the City Centre theater here in Stockton. It was Ryan, Kitt, Sean, Eighmee, and I.
Afterwards Ryan, Eighmee and I went to Cost Plus World Market and bought a new dining room table to replace the loaner from her parents place. The table we liked, had the last one on display but looked to be in good condition, and the sales girl knocked $50 off the $250 price. Not bad.

Our new DVD cabinets got delivered to our apartment shortly after we got home from work yesterday evening by FedEx. We cleared out the area, and got one of the three cabinets put together just in time for the E.R., and The Apprentice season finale. Afterword we got a TON of DVD packed into the cabinet. Today, Friday, Eighmee was off work at 1pm. I took her by Premier Staffing to turn-in her time card, and deposite some paychecks at her bank, then brought her home before I returned to work. I talked to her earlier and she's finished putting the second DVD cabinet together, and was going to go take a nap for a bit. I'm looking forward to the weekend. :o) Ryan's been at E3 this week getting to check out all the latest like XBox 360, Playstation 3, Quake 4, Fable PC, etc. He gets back to Stockton tonight, and I'm looking forward to seeing his pics from the trip.

Okay I know Eighmee and I are DVD crack fiends, but they’re basically getting to the point where we have absolutely no place to put them. We only guess somewhere on the order of 700+ DVDs right now and still growing quickly. We currently have 6, roughly hip-high, 4-shelf “bookcases” similar to this. And there are still stacks of DVDs with no home. :o/
So we said, okay, we need some high-density cabinets specifically designed for storing DVDs. Preferably floor-to-ceiling, preferably something nice and oak and we’d like one or more cabinets that would completely cover one of our walls. This where the fun began…
First, everyplace in town has “DVD storage cabinets”, yeah, for storing like 30 DVDs! They’re all highly in-efficient and nowhere near the capacity that we need. WATAFA!
We go to OfficeMax, Office Depot, Best Buy, Super Wal-Mart, and an actual furniture store. They’re all like, “dude, you’re on crack, you’re either gonna have to order something like that online, or have it custom built.” OMFG
So we go home and start scouring the web for something and we finally came up with this. It’s crappy plastic-wood, and it’s only about 5˝’ tall, but each cabinet claims to hold 340 DVD’s, and three will fit flush on the wall we wanted to fill in for a maximum capacity of 1,020 DVDs.
THEN come to find out no place in town actually keeps these things in stock, nor do they keep them in their warehouses. They’re considered special order items (because apparently no one has 1k DVDs), so we finally decide to get them online through Staples.com for like $388 total without having actually seen them.
It was simply the best we could do next to going to Home Depot and buying lumber and building our own. *rolls eyes*
Wut da hayeelll?! It’s just retarded that places don’t keep even cheap stuff like this in stock.
Okay, I’m done.

Looks like during the Half-Moon Bay Subaru drive earlier this month Ryan had some significant damage to his head-gasket. It's still running but after it warms up the engine starts smokin from leaking coolant. Luckily there was a recall where Subaru had put conditioner in his coolant shortly after he bought the car last year, and it doing so it (hopefully) re-warrantied his head-gasket (which is what the conditioner was for). He's been driving it to work, but he had it towed today to a Subaru dealership near Sacramento. They need his up-keep (oil change, etc) paperwork, so I'm gonna give him a lift home at lunch (when I take eighmee to work) to get that stuff to fax in.
Tommorow Eighmee is working graduation at UOP, and it sounds like there is a very strong liklihood that she'll be getting permanant employment there. (THANK FUCKING ALLAH!) I'll blog more on this as I get more info.

We had another cool, but busy weekend. Saturday was neice Bella's first birthday. Mike and Jennifer had a big shindig at in their backyard complete with a baloon clown, catered tamales a ton of people, etc. Mike did a great job working in the back yard recently. He ripped out a tree, and built Bella an enormous red wood playground set, and turned that far back of their yard into a garden with all sorts of eatables on their way.
Sunday was Mothers day. Eddie had Tepa's catered to grandma's house and we had a fun time, then headed up to Valley Springs to have a mothers day dinner with Eighmee's parents. Eighmee make tados and desert to bring up.

i've been in charge at work for the past week and a half, and my boss just came back today, so I took advantage and am taking today and tomorrow off. it's been pretty nutz there with everyone from the department either being sick, or in training, or out for other shit off and on for the past month (including myself).
so i took eighmee to work at noon today and have just been chilin at home doing a bit of housework dishes, general pickin' shit up, et al, then crankin some crappy 80's music and surfin' the madoshi forums, etc. About 3:30 i drove over to Gian's Deli in the rain and got a hot ham & cheese, a pices of pizza and an orange gatorade.
Gotta leave any minute now to go pickup eighmee from work.
ma'boss said it was cool I take the days off (my vacation time was maxxing out, and I would have lost the time off), but i have to go in tomorrow for a tag-up meeting. :o/

Saturday we did mostly nothing. It was the day of the 2005 Top Hat Classic, but absolutely nobody from work wanted to ride (they're all gay). Grandparents had a b-day part for mom at their place, but i ducked out since i was supposed to be going the to bike ride.

Sunday we went with ryan and kitt to half moon bay with several other Subaru enthusiasts and rode around the coastal hills at high speeds. Later our group broke off at had dinner and horns at the Half Moon Bay brewing company. good stuff.
Monday was mom's birthday. Eighmee, Ryan and I took her to Santiagos for dinner. It was quiet and fun. We got her a little ivy plant in a cherrub and a card.
