Monday night was fairly interesting. Eighmee and I were crashed on the couch around midnight watching The Fisher King when something caught our attention. The cat jumpped up, looked around and flew into the bedroom. Just then we spotted this black, egg-sized blur flying back-and-forth across our appartment. It was completely silent, it didn't hit anything, and was going about 100 mph. First instinct made me ask, "did Tino get out". Tino being our cockatil, but he's much larger, and would be flapping irratically and bumping into stuff. No, it was a bat! There was a freakin bat flying around in our apartment. Eighmee started wiggin out, and we both threw our blankets over heads and were like "WTF!". I figured I had to try and get it outside. I figured if it kept moving like it was, it might fly out if I open the door. Since I'm in shorts and a t-shirt a get up with the blanket draped over my head. I figure I first need to put the cat away in the bedroom so he cat run out the open door, but Eighmee indicates that he already ran back there for cover. So I run to the bedroom, look in, and the cat is like, "WTF is THAT!?" I close the bedroom doors, and head back down the hall. The whole time this black oval mass is screamin back and forth around the room. So I make a B-Line for the door, open it, turn on the lights outside, and turn off the lights inside. Then I make my way back over by the kitchen for cover in hopes to see him leave. And he does. He does about 3 more laps aroud the apartment, each time effectively making me duck and pull the blanket over my head, then a final glance of him flying out the door. The whole time Eighmee is like, "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!" When I give the all clear, she immediately gets up, runs over and calls her mom for moral support, while I head to the bedroom to release Keke. He gets up, and slow starts walking back down the hallway while looking around with a "What the bloody eff was THAT!" look on his face. Eighmee and I looked around but still aren't entirely sure how he got in. The chimney flew was open, so that's a possibility. It's closed now heh. So all was well so we crash back down and finished our movie.

yesterday eighmee, andrew, ryan and i went up to eighmee's parents place in valley springs for an easter get together. we all took that dogs for a walk when we first got up there. then harvey wound up his 'hifi' turntable and played a bunch of old 78's for us. later we helped him get his wurlitzer operational again and we played a few tunes on that. eighmee's mom made us lasagne with all the fixin's, and we put on The Incredibles DVD to which we'd all seen but eighmee's parents fell asleep, so we woke them up and headed home around 9:30 or so.

today my family is due to have an easter get together at grandma's house at noon, so i've got to go get ready. eighmee's still been really sick. last week she had a temperature of 103F and dreadful flu symptoms. luckily she's had this week off, because while the flu symptoms immediatly waned, she'd had a real bad cough for the past week. she gets tomorrow off too, but is due to return to work tuesday.

Well, I've been officially out-blogged. :o)

My buddy GonePostal's got a great diary that often rivals that of TuckerMax, and some pretty smooth tunes he plays on the geetar. This blog entry is a tribute...

Well I've had a great birthday weekend so far! Friday the department at work took me to lunch for burgers at The Graduate. Saturday the 12th, my birthday, yesterday, Eighmee and I got up and went shopping, then she made me an almond rocha cake while I played Morrowind. Later Ryan and Andrew came over, then eventually Eighmee's parents. Around 6:30 or so we headed to Shi-Ra-Soni for a fantastic birthday dinner, large sake, and Ryan had the staff sing happy birthday and bring out vanilla ice cream with a candle on top. Afterwards we came back home and had the almond rocha cake, while I opened presents. I got a ton of gift certificates to Best Buy, and Eighmee got me an Elvis Costello CD, a new special edition release of The Wall on DVD, and a pretty cool Guns n Roses throw blanket from Hot Topic. Ryan's ordered me some new headphones from eBay.

Today Eighmee and I just got up and are having some coffee. Around noon we're due to head over to my grandparents house for yet another birthday extravaganza. Grandpa is bbqin' burgers and dogs, and mom's getting a mint-chocolate-chip ice-cream cake from Baskin Robins. Yum. I imagine most of the family will be there.

Otays until next time...

W00t today I got my car back from Diablo Autobody and they did a fantastic job. Looks litterally as good as new! It feels great to have two-more cylinders again, and 100,000 less miles (compared to the CRV)! :o)

In other news, a construction (or destruction?) crew came and tore down the two houses then burned down last year immediatly across from our appartment. So no we have a lakeside view, at least for the time being. w00t! heheh It's a helluva lot better than the burnt, broke-ass houses that have been there this whole time!
