Man, I guess I stole all my thunder in that last post, there's nothing left to talk about now. :o) The weekend went good. Melinda left on Sunday morning before I got up. No new news from my dad. I called mom yesterday and she'd spend the majority of the day with him, but aparently his ketone levels neither improved or got worse. Doctors say just time will tell.

jeezus, i just typed out a big ass fuckin blog, and got a server error. server too busy. killll Blogger!!!! Anyways, this is important stuff so i'm gonna take another stab at it. This time in Notepad first. :o)

well first off. i don't think i've written much, if anything about dad being in the hospital. mom took him in wednesday mornining i believe for an operation on his aortic aneurysm. the doc said they normally take between one and eighteen hours. dad was in surgery for five hours and it seems everything turned out allright. i've had school tueday and wednesday nights, and yesterday i was helping mike get his computer / internet connection back up and running again with his new 802.11g router, so i've felt kinda bad that i haven't gone to see him during this stay in the hospital. i'd like to go see him during lunch today.

now for the big news: mike called and left a message on my cell phone while i was in class on wednesday, but i never checked it. then, yesterday, he called me at work to ask me to come check out his computer, which i did last night after work. what i missed, was when i answered the phone, he referred to me as 'Uncle David'. That's right, Mike and Jennifer are having a little wallace! Jennifer was all stoked last night- she had stopped by baby Gap on the way home from work and bought the baby's first bib. Mike and all are all excited. I haven't talked to mom, or anyone else yet about it. i'm sure i'll be writing more about this in the future. :o)

yesterday i found out, melinda will be coming to stay with us this weekend on her way back down home from her visit with her parents. i've got to got straight home after work to clean up the place.

yesterday eighmee and sean got to go to an assistant manager's conference in modesto. ryan took them there and picked them up later on. ryan also picked up the new cell-shaded Zelda game for the Nintendo Game Cube yesterday and was playing it almost all of last night on the plasma. i played Golden Sun for a good while when i got home from mike's, and eighmee was crashed early after her meeting.

when i got home i was bummed to find out the answering machine portion of our $150 vtech 2461 cordless phone was fucked up. the display is just showing a flashing "--", and it's making a light ticking noice. i put in a support e-mail to vtech last night, and they responded this morning verifying that it is indeed fucked. we bought the phone about the time we moved into our appartment around june 2002, meaning it's still technically under warranty, but vtech requires either a receipt or a check for $75 for warranty work. add to that the fact that i can get a new 2461 on eBay for about $55, and it looks like we'll be shopping for
a new phone pretty soon. beh.

in today's news, the company is having a little baby shower for tim. the mis department pulled together funds and is giving him a gift certificate for $120 to toys'r us. the rest of the company separately pulled together funds and is giving him cash. we're having a little lunch party for him today serving hot dogs and chinese food. i'm unsure how this will impact my desire to go see my dad today. either way, i'm sure i'll write about it later. :o)

3pm- I went and saw my pops at about 1pm with my mom. tims baby shower worked out where I could do both without issue. Mom was there when i got to his room. A nurse told us as soon as we got there that he was having complications with his kidneys and they were moving him back to SICU for better monitoring. They told us when he first got out of surgery that he could have kidney complications due to the length of the aortic anyrism. Mom and I left because we both had to get back to work. Aparently mom called my grandparents, who in turn called Mike, and though the situation isn't real good, Mike version was that he was is very critical condition. Mike left work early and called me while rushing to the hospital. I think I settled his nerves. I told him to check out dad, and give me a call with any updates. I sure hope he pulls through this.

wuzzuhhhh... yesterday i went home and crashed after work, and almost forgot i had class last night. civilization. had to turn in an essay i wrote on brother sun sister moon we watched last week. eighmee worked early, and when i got home ryan picked up sean and we watched blow. pretty fresh movie about George Jung, one of the 80's biggest drug distributors. before that i played a little more iron storm. today eighmee works early again and we're taking alex out to lunch for his 38th b-day. peace.

Not too much goin on. I had polysci last night, and had a quiz. We watched the movie XXX last night. It was kinda sucky. Then I played Golden Sun on GBA before I crashed. We're starting to get our butts whooped in Iraq. Well maybe not whooped, but it's getting pretty hair-ball, to the point they have stopped showing live action on television. Tim, Alex and I went to Shi Ra Soni for lunch today. The Karate Chop there roXXor. Peace out.

Tuesday, March 25, 2003

Man, time flies, and I've been neglecting the blog. :o) Well I had a pretty cool weekend. We went and saw the movie Dreamcatcher at the Holiday 8 theater on Saturday. Melinda came up and stayed the night on Sunday on her way up to see her parents. I checked out the PC game Iron Storm over the weekend and will probably be giving it a good go this week. Eighmee played Golden Sun on the GameBoy, and Ryan played DOA Vollyball almost all day yesterday. Yesterday I had to work on a critical essay for my Civilization class on a movie we watched, Brother Sun Sister Moon, on St. Francis of Assasi. The war in Iraq is proceeding pretty agressively. We've lost about 20 troops or so, but are building up a perimeter around Baghdad. This is where is gets interesting. Allright back to work.

Friday, March 21, 2003

U.S. forces started it's "Shock and Awe" attack on Iraq this morning. CNN Radio, and MSNBC have live video feeds from cameras in Iraq, and it's amazing seeing the 'precision guided smart bombs' coming down and blowing up buildings Baghdad. I'm heading home for lunch in a bit to check it out on cable.

In other news Eighmee and Ryan bought some fresh new Gameboys that came out yesterday. They're just like the Gameboy advance, but have a new clamshell case, backlit screen, and rechargable battery. I played Golden Sun on Eighmee's until I crashed last night.

1:22PM - Just got back from lunch. It was nutz watching the bombing on TV. I made a Mr. P's pizza, and Eighmee had Hot Pockets while we watched CNN for about an hour. On the web, the stock market seems to be doing much better now that we're whoopin' some butt over there.

Thursday, March 20, 2003

Had Civilization class last night. Got a 92 on the first midterm. I'm actually doing better in both classes than I was expecting. Well the war went into full-swing last night. I got an SMS on my cell phone during class that said the first explosions were heard near Baghdad. Turns out we sent in F-117A's and dropped four 20,000lb bombs on what we believed to be an Iraqi command center. A message from Saddam was broadcast about an hour later on Iraqi Al Jazeera television apparently trying to illustrate that Saddam was alive. In the message he says nothing of the attacks, and some suggest he too was killed or incapacitated in the initial attack. We watched the news on various networks last night until it got redundant. Sean and Ryan were over, and around midnight we watched X-Men 1.5. I'm working on DRE and HealthTrio stuff today at work. Eighmee opens at the mall this morning. This morning, it was reported that Iraq launched it's first retalitory strike against the U.S. Forces. A handful of SCUD missiles came close to troops, but there were no reported casualties.

11:50PM- We went to Applebee's for dinner tonight w/ Mikey n' Ryan and played lotsa games afterwards.

Wednesday, March 19, 2003

Class ran long last night, went home, played some more Mafia on PC. Eighmee worked till 9:30 and played more DOA last night. Today the Drudge Report announced that some British forces started some ground fighting in Iraq. They're moving in apparently to setup temporary landing and refueling stations for when the air strikes start tonight or tomorrow. Fun stuff. I have Civilization class tonight. Okay going to lunch now... bye.

1:49pm- Ok I'm back. The gang took me out to Chili's for another birthday lunch. Mike, Shelli, Alejandro, Tim, Gary, and Ken. Good stuff.

Tuesday, March 18, 2003

Yesterday was Monday. Pretty lamer day. Just work as usual. Took off and went home a little early- Eighmee n' Ryan were playing DOA Beach Volley Ball all evening on the XBox. I beat a couple levels of Mafia on PC. Later we watched The Game (I wanted to enjoy those new speakers s'more :o) Dat was bout it.

Today, Tuesday, president Bush anounced 48-hour deadline for Saddam to get out of Iraq, or we're gonna start bombing. The war seems pretty inevitable. I have class tonight after work, Poly Sci, and I'm sure we're going to be talking about it.

Sunday, March 16, 2003

Last night I had a pretty rockin' birthday party here at the apartment that Eighmee put on for me. We had her parents, Kitt, Chris, Sean, Pat, Mikey, and Andrew. Typical weekend type stuff. Eighmee made a bunch of party snacks. Her parents watched a DVD on the history of the atomic bomb before most of the guests arrived, then later they watched Road to Perdition while dinner was on. I bbq'd chicken, burgers, hot dogs, and garden burgers. I've been complaining about what home theaters I want to get, and aparently to shut me up, Eighmee had everyone get me money, each in cards saying, "for Dave's speaker fund". Chris and I BS'ed about computers and work until about 2 am. This morning I got up, took Eighmee to work, and started speaker shopping as soon as the mall opened. I finally decided on Bose Accoustimass 6 Series III, mated with a Bose VCS-10 center channel to complete the audio portion of our home theater. I just talked with Eighmee at work, she says Penny's in town and we going to meet her for dinner tonight at Applebee's 'round seven. I'm heading back over to the mall right now to get some upgraded speaker cable, and an optical cable for our DVD player. :oP

Friday, March 14, 2003

Well, not much to report this A.M. Got home from work and crashed for a while last night, then went to InShape at about 8:40 or so. I did stay long though- I just did 30 minutes on the stair climber. Last night was Thursday, so when I got home it was time to watch E.R. then hit the sack. Today is Friday. Not much going on at work. Just working on the reloading providers into Xpress. I believe Eighmee works tonight, so I'll probably be starting some shopping for my 4th birthday schindig tomorrow.

Thursday, March 13, 2003

8:26AM- Well after work yesterday, I had to take a midterm in Civilization at Delta. Thankfully it was an utter piece of cake taking only about a half-hour. Afterwards Eighmee, Ryan, Mikey, Sean, Kitt, and I all went to Shi Ra Soni 8:30pm, where I had the Karate Chop (Chicken & Steak), and Chicken Tempura. Pretty damn good like always. When we got back to the house, we all played Cranium. Three teams of two, Eighmee & Mikey, Ryan & Sean, and Kitt and Myself. Me and Kitt got slaughtered, as we barely made it half way around the board by the time Eighmee & Mikey won. Overall a pretty good birthday!

3:11PM- Mom called me at work around 10 or so this morning and wanted her and dad to take me to lunch. We met at Manny's California Fresh in Stockton's Miracle Mile at 11:30. T'was a nice birthday lunch.

Wednesday, March 12, 2003

7:06AM- Gawd damn- look at the time- I got woke up today at about 6am by a phone call from Mike (da boss). Turns out my latest DRE update I had published last night had a bug causing the staff to get an error when ever they approved any requests. It's all taken care of now, and at least the fix should be published before the majority of the hpsj staff gets into work. It just figures being it's my birthday n' all. heh. It's like yesterday- DRE had been working flawlessly for weeks then yesterday I came home for lunch, and as soon as I get here I get a phone call from Shelli that "DRE's acting up" Funny thing is I never did figure out what was wrong with it. Some weird anomally where the inbox wasn't refreshing properly. Whatever. I swear this thing is the bane of my existence! hehe Alright time to get cleaned up for work.

12:43PM- Well I spent most of the morning resolving bugs with that latest release of DRE, and at about 11:30 we went to the Graduate for lunch. It was Shelli, Wayne, Alejandro, Tim, and myself. Their turkey bacon sandwich, the Glendale, was pretty rad. Eighmee's working at the mall today, and says she's gonna take me to Shi Ra Soni for dinner tonight. Man, I'm gonna be freakin stuffed.

Tuesday, March 11, 2003

12:08PM- well I finally got my ass to the gym last night. First time in several months. It was pretty cool, InShape City has been remodeling and they've got a lot more equipment as well as a pretty cool bank of 8, 60-inch TVs. Eighmee's off today and I'll be heading home for lunch shortly. Normal junk at work today. Mike's got L.A. Care here to check out DRE. Das about it. peace out.

11:31PM- Jus' an update... I had class tonight. Political Science. It started a half-hour late, as the CSEA (Calif. School Employee's Assn.) was having a protest / rally against the budget cuts that were in turn cutting classified and faculty jobs at Delta College. Our Poly Sci teacher, Mr. Ortiz, let us have to time to participate if we so chose. After school, I came home and played Metal of Honor: Spearhead while Eighmee, Ryan, and Sean watched Rob Roy. I'm heading to bed soon to read some Wired magazine before sleepy time.

Monday, March 10, 2003

Hmm, I think I like this blogger thing. :o) It's Monday- I'm at work, Jerry's gone to D.C. for part of the week. Tim and I got some Starbucks this morning- Alex is out sick. No class tonight, and Eighmee's working, so I may either go to school to study for my Civilization Wednesday midterm, or try to do some cycling since the MIS group is doing the Top Hat Classic, 25 mile bike ride next month. (this'll be the second year we've done it) Okay, back to work...

Sunday, March 09, 2003

It be Sunday. Eighmee and Ryan are working most all day today. I took Eighmee to Software around 9:30 and got some breakfast for her, then I perused the speaker systems over at best buy. My family had a b-day party for me over at my grandparents yesterday; 26 years old -- It seems these are about the years, one starts wishing that number would slow down. I'm itchin to spend all the money / gift certificates I got for Dillards, and Best Buy. Eighmee's having another birthday party for me this coming Saturday after my b-day. Probably do a bbq or something... I've just been crashed all day, watchin tv, eating, cleaning up the apartment, etc. Eighmee and Ryan'll probably be back from work around 7:30 or so. peace out.
